Landscape, Seascape & Townscape Character Assessment – Understanding Place, Informing Change.

This was an evening of a seminar followed by a mini-workshop. Christine Tudor of Natural England began with a introduction of Landscape Character Assessment, followed by Chris Drake, Kent Coastal Officer, Kent County Council, who gave a case study of Seascape Character Assessment for the Dover Strait, followed by Jon Rooney, of AECOM with a short introduction of Townscape Character Assessment followed by Ben Croot of LDA who led four workshops each managed by the speakers. The workshops are intended to inform the LI Technical Committee’s work on Townscape Character Assessment. Tom Turner recorded the evening on a Youtube video see

The evening was a sell out which illustrates the topicality of these growing areas of landscape planning.
