The Landscape Institute has 12 branches across the UK providing membership services, events and support to members in their area.
As the London branch of the Landscape Institute we have a concentration of important practices, major projects and many hardworking landscape architects. This website will act as a catalyst and showcase for the creativity of landscape architects in the capital and also encourage members to engage with their professional body.
Our Action Plan, linked to the LI Development Plan, promotes an ambitious and growing programme. Education and CPD events are always popular – P2C workshops particularly are in great demand. We are becoming more involved in education outreach, to schools and the general public, which is where our new marketing sub-committee will make an impact – we are still aware of a lack of knowledge of our ever-evolving profession which we firmly believe we can help to overcome.
LI London also has a new Policy group, as there is an increasing need to be in a position to take a stand on a range of environmental issues as they affect the London area, and offer consultation responses on a range of issues. We also keep a close eye on the Mayor’s statements and updates to The London Plan.
Events are an important element of the Branch’s role – CPD talks, seminars, workshops and conferences, plus support to a range of exciting activities demonstrating how landscape architects are breaking the boundaries, whilst promoting inter-professional links, such as during the London Festival of Architecture and Open House Week. Our social events too are growing in style and content – a great opportunity to network and have fun.
